 Ø  Study Camp for Anthropology

Anthropology is the study of humanity. It has origins in the humanities, the natural sciences, and the social sciences  Anthropology's basic concerns are "What defines human life and society?", "How are social relations among humans organized?", "Who are the ancestors of modern Homo sapiens?", "What are humans' physical traits?", "How do humans behave?", "Why are there variations among different groups of humans?", "How has the evolutionary past of Homo sapiens influenced its social organization and culture?" and so forth.

Baranti is surrounded by small tribal hamlets which are inhabited by Santhals. Baranti Wildlife & Nature Study Hut will take you amidst their rich culture. It is also an ideal location for base camp for Anthropological excursion to the caves of Biharinath and Susunia where indication of ancient human beings has been discovered.

 ØCamp for Painting
Painting is a mode of expression and the forms are numerous. Drawing, composition or abstraction and other aesthetics may serve to manifest the expressive and conceptual intention of the practitioner. Paintings can be naturalistic and representational (as in a still life or landscape painting),photographic, abstract, be loaded with narrative content, symbolism, emotion or be political in nature.

An artist can nurture his creative talents in an open nature. That is why Rabindranath Tagore set up his Asram at Shantiniketqan for its ambience. Time has taken away the glory of Santiniketan’s rural beauty. Baranti may be a substitute of old Santiniketan where you will discover the same nostalgic flavor

ØCamp for Photography
This is a heaven for the photographers and writers. Baranti takes different looks in different seasons. Some times Baranti glows with Palash in its fiery bloom, some times tranquil green with its paddy fields in full grow, in rainy season the nature sings around Baranti

Ø Nature study Camp
Nature study can be described as "conceiving of the movement as a loose coalition of communities composed of individuals, societies, and institutions able to find some common ground in the study and appreciation of the natural world." In "Leaflet I: What Is Nature-Study?" from a 1904 collection nature study lessons, Liberty Hyde Bailey presented the following description of nature study:

NATURE-STUDY, as a process, is seeing the things that one looks at, and the drawing of proper conclusions from what one sees. Its purpose is to educate the child in terms of his environment, to the end that his life may be fuller and richer. Nature-study is not the study of a science, as of botany, entomology, geology, and the like. That is, it takes the things at hand and endeavors to understand them, without reference primarily to the systematic order or relationships of objects. It is informal, as are the objects which one sees. It is entirely divorced from mere definitions, or from formal explanations in books. It is therefore supremely natural. It trains the eye and the mind to see and to comprehend the common things of life; and the result is not directly the acquiring of science but the establishing of a living sympathy with everything that is.

The nature study movement (alternatively, Nature Study or nature-study) was a popular education movement in America in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Nature study attempted to reconcile scientific investigation with spiritual, personal experiences gained from interaction with the natural world. Led by progressive educators and naturalists such as Anna Botsford Comstock, Liberty Hyde Bailey, Louis Agassiz andWilbur S. Jackman, nature study changed the way science was taught in schools by emphasizing learning from tangible objects, something that was embodied by the movement's mantra "study nature, not books."

The movement popularized scientific study outside of the classroom as well, and has proven highly influential for figures involved in the modern environmental movement, such as  Aldo Leopold  and  Rachel Carson.

By the mid-19th century, a growing concern for the state of the environment began to take shape. In 1864, American diplomat George Perkins Marsh published the groundbreaking book Man and Nature. Highlighting people's responsibility to the natural world, the work marked the beginning of the conservation movement.

Before the 1890s, the idea of nature study existed, but the "efforts had been sporadic and piecemeal." Naturalist Louis Agassiz wanted to capture "learners in studying the natural world." His students, who where influenced by this philosophy, went on to provide the nature study knowledge in public schools. It was Aggasiz who coined the phrase, "Study nature, not books."

Its an ideal place for children’s nature camp amidst the hills and forest where the city children get opportunity to mix with their rural counter parts and exchange their culture and ideas.

Ø Camp for Socioeconomics Study
Socioeconomics or socio-economics or social economics is an umbrella term with different usages. 'Social economics' may refer broadly to the "use of economics in the study of society. More narrowly, contemporary practice considers behavioral interactions of individuals and groups through social capital and social "markets" (not excluding for example, sorting by marriage) and the formation of social norms. In the latter, it studies the relation of economics to social values. There are so many villages small and big (general and tribal populated) are situated in this area. This area is very much useful for statistical survey related with Socio Economic Study.

ØCamp Geology Study
Ecology Field camp is a tradition in the education of a geologist. It is an intensive course that applies classroom and laboratory training to solving geological problems in the field. Skills developed during field camp typically include: collection of geologic data, constructing a measured section, interpreting geologic structures and geologic mapping. Location is a critical factor in distinguishing field camps, because location determines the type of rocks, fossils, structures, and geomorphology you will learn.
